HEALING LITTLE SOUL MURDERS
Somehow we give too much power to the voices
that wound our souls, and wear down our
spirit. What do you do when the little soul
murders accumulate? Overtime, we begin to
buy into the ridiculous notions of not being
enough—not pretty or smart enough, not
doing enough or doing right, just somehow,
not good enough.

Alone, but not lonely, feeling just a little shy,
Winter is warm, with a cooool gentle breeze blowing
cotton puff clouds that dot a clear blue Middle Eastern sky.
The mood is calm, there is a soulful tune
in the desert on a Friday afternoon.
Men in white regal thobes that make it
hard to determine who is a prince or not
head straight for the Mosque.

BREAK THE SHACKLES

They say, every African man-child born
under the sun in 2001 will
have a chance to be “one in three”,
ending up in a prison cell,
trapped between hell and harm,
somebody please, please
SOUND THE ALARM,
the house is burning down,
Let’s turn this thing around!
